The Movie Critique 011

Well, I just got back from watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire. What a great movie. It’s a bit on the darker side of the movies, but it is enjoyable. The cinematography is so much better than Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. And Emma Watson. . . (losing myself in a dream)

O.K., back to reality. The movie. What a treat! It is a fabulous rendition of the book. Even my friend, who had never seen a Harry Potter movie or read a Harry Potter book, said it was good. How about that! Here I was wondering if he would be lost during the picture without all the background, but he says it was pretty cut-and-dry for him, “it had a beginning, a middle and an end. . . it even left you hanging for a sequel”.

I have to admit, some of the things from the book I had been anticipating were not included. I missed Dobby. But aren’t movies great that way! You can have one story to enjoy in book form, and a similar yet different story in movie form. It’s like magic. You can keep all the parts you treasure to yourself. Or, you can even mix them up a bit.

The direction was great. The acting Brilliant! The English(British?) accents were a bit too heavy at times, but all-in-all, it was a good flick.

Any true complaints? Nope, except, I didn’t care for how you just get settled into a scene and it cuts to the end of the scene or new one without warning. Those Star Wars wipes would have been perfect in this movie. Also, I wish Emma had a bigger role. . . 😉
