Thanks to Hulu, I just watched last nights three show cancellation spectacular of Community. At the end was something I do not understand. There was this weird group of black words on a white background, "#sixseasonsandamovie".

What does that mean?

A simple internet search resulted in me finding http://tagdef.com/sixseasonsandamovie, which states "Used by the fans of NBC’s Cult favorite Community to show their support and complain about the show’s current hiatus". Hmmn.

What does that mean? The site still didn’t say what it is

Further on, there are undated [time-stamped] comments, many of which are what appear to be rants about a perceived peril concerning the show.

Suffice it to say,  I am confused. I know the show was renewed just a couple of days ago, but I also know NBC does not want it. And now I read, from http://www.tumblr.com comments, that someone called "Dan Harmon" has been fired.

While watching the episode, I could not shake the feeling that I thought it was the second best series finale of all time, bumping Mash after Greek! What the fuck is going on?

Since it first aired, I have considered Community the best written show on air, possibly of all time. Though the only actor I knew of the cast was Chevy Chase, it was clear from the start, it was an all-star cast regardless of whether or not anyone else had ever starred before!

In all my years of watching television, the only times I have ever seen a network air two shows back-to-back were when they had been cancelled and it was just airing what it had already paid for; reruns, of course not included.

Oh, and while we are on the topic of totally awesome writers, my hats go off to the writers of "Once Upon a Time"! I cannot believe a network (this time Disney’s ABC) actually allowed a first season finale to end with all ends snug! Wow, usually, they would drag things on in agony for three season before making a fundamental change like that one!  I congratulate the writers for that victory, but warn, it could mean their demise in ‘ratings’ next year…

  1. Thanks Eric, I had forgotten that joke. 🙂

But, it still doesn't explain what "#sixseasonsandamovie" is, or why it was spotlighted on the show.

    Thanks for your comment!

@Steven, sorry I missed what you had to say. 🙁
